This prestigious “benched” dog show featured nearly 2,000 dogs and more than 100 breeds at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. The Cow Palace is a 6-acre arena where the first Grand National Rodeo was held in 1941.
Sophie and Bella along with their beautiful "bench mates" (Preston, Axl, Hummer, Triton, Rain, Phoebe and Jolie) had an absolute blast meeting the public and "Hands-On" made many new Newfie fans. They took time out from the hundreds of hands stroking their soft fur to show brilliantly in the ring. The "bench mates" were collectively awarded Best of Breed, Best of Opposite, Best of Bred By Exhibitor and a two Reserve Winners and then it was back to their loving fans.
Sophie has decided with an assortment of cookies to eat all day and the nonstop strokes by all the bench visitors, and of course the soft pillow (appropriately labeled) this was her favorite show by far and can’t wait to go back next year. Sophie especially enjoyed when a “human puppy” came to see her. She gently pushed their hair aside so she could kiss the ears of every “human puppy”.
Bella discovered there were “human puppies” out in the world shorter than her that she could always count on having some sort of food left on their face that “conveniently” needed cleaning. One little boy even showed his belly to Bella and she graciously cleaned that too while he laughed uncontrollably. Bella said she was happy to demonstrate the known fact that Newfies are the best Nannies for children.
Here are some of the highlights!

I don't know why they say this pillow is just right for me???
Whoo Hooo We finally got to meet Gizmo's mom Cindy!!!
She came all the way from Canada!!
This human puppy is so cute!
I wonder if mom would let me keep him?
Well! you know a dignified lady never divulges her age or weight and certainly not how much she eats! But…. If you keep scratching like that I might be forced to tell you.
Ahhhh a little to the left please!
Well if Sophie gets to keep a human puppy of her own.. I want this one!! I gave him a belly washing!
